NIce, as expected, but*

My copy seems to have an issue with the aperture ring. There is hardly any difference from 1.7 to the next "click", the "2.8". From there on, the aperture seems to close up normally, but the actual numbers remain somehow off. I don't know if it's my copy a bit unufortunate. However, I appreciate your brand and I am willing to accept those limitations. Photographers are not Perfect, either.

A wonderful prime.

I bought this 25mm for my new Fujifilm X-M5 because the kit zoom lens is big and hasn't a very wide aperture. The X-M5 with the Pergear 25mm f/1.7 fits easily in my parka's pocket making it ideal for unnnoticed street shots.
Lens performance is very good starting from f/2.8 and still very nice in the center at smaller apertures. There's some vignetting at 1.7 but I definitely like it because it helps focusing on the subject. An all-metal lens makes the camera feel just a bit heavier but sturdy and reliable. The aperture ring is clicked but it can be somewhat put in intermediate positions between its steps; the focus ring is smooth but stable, so once you've focused you can safely adjust the composition without worrying about moving it. The one thing I'd prefer would have been an all black lens, without the silver-ish ring between apertures and focus. The lens comes with a nice bag and a lens hood because it's prone to veiling flares at wider apertures. The hood is all metal.
At this price, this lens is absolutely unbeatable and I love it! You can see some shots on Threads:

A pleasure to shoot with this lens. Excellent value for money.

Excellent build quality. Very smooth and effective focusing and aperture control. Very good image quality. The only flaw is the flare and loss of contrast at large apertures under direct light. It is partly corrected from f/5.4 onwards. But for the price it is a real pleasure to take photos with this lens. Manual focus works perfectly with the Fuji X-T30 with focus peaking even at maximum aperture. Very easy to achieve perfect focus.. The silver color matches this camera very well and with its small size they make it a great set.. Fast and trouble-free shipping. Very happy with the purchase

great little lens

For a long time, I was looking for a lens with a high aperture for micro 4/3 at an affordable price, something that fits in the pocket with the camera on trips when you don't want to carry a lot of equipment. After watching a few videos, I was curious if such a small lens could really conjure up nice photos, and I was very pleasantly surprised. This little thing really takes nice pictures, it definitely has no competition at this price level. High-quality image and sharpness, all-metal body, nice bokeh. A really nice little thing that can surprise.
