Good macro lens but...

Using this macro lens in my apsc canon i noticed a slight lower contrast in harsh light condition, but apart from that, the lens built quality is very good and communicates a feeling of durability. The image quality is sharp. For the best sharpness use an aperture of F5.6

Good lens for the price

Good macro lens for the price. Allows you to get very close to objects. Recommended for beginners.

Prime quality

I've done tests comparing it to the Sony 90mm G Macro. The image quality result is the same. Nothing to envy. It's a wonder.

Amazing lens for the price

I’m an amateur on macro photography but I find this lens quite intuitive and even if it doesn’t cost that much it gives you a very sturdy sensation, the gears are quite hard to turn so can be more precise. It’s a perfect entry level macro and probably the only one with 2x magnification at this price, I mostly use it for insect macro but even not for macro I find it quite fun to use being all manual. I want also to thank the pergear staff , they were very helpful and fast to answer when I was waiting for the shipment.

A really nice surprise !

As another reviewer comments - don't be fooled by the price. I bought this lens purely for Macro/close up and it performs that job far beyond what I expected for the price point.
Very solidly built and the focus/aperture rings move precisely. Perhaps a bit tight for some but I like that as it stops me accidentally moving the aperture ring while focusing. Being a fully manual lens is not a problem for me as the lens works well with the focus peaking on my Canon R7. I purposely use the APS-C body as it gives me extra distance from the subject.
Image quality using the R7 is very sharp and colourful. I tend to shoot towards the wider apertures and I haven't seen any issues yet. As I won't be using the lens on full frame I can't comment on any vignetting.
I like trying "different" lenses and this will get lots of use.
